El incendio forestal en Tierra del Fuego, en la Reserva ‘Corazón de la Isla’ ya arrasó con 9 mil hectáreas en Tolhuin, lo confirmo la ministra de Producción y Ambiente, Sonia Castiglione, lo que equivale a cuatro veces la superficie de Ushuaia, y advirtió que la justicia investiga cómo se inició el fuego.
Castiglione también confirmó que el Juzgado de Competencia Ampliada del municipio de Tolhuin, a cargo del juez Silvio Pellegrino, inició de oficio una investigación para determinar las causas del inicio del fuego en la reserva natural “Corazón de la Isla”, y afirmó a radio Nacional que en ese marco ya “habrían encontrado que el incendio comenzó en una parrilla, por un fogón mal apagado, aunque eso es materia de análisis judicial”.
El juez declaró a FM del Pueblo que “ya está individualizado el lugar en donde se habría iniciado el incendio, pero aún tienen que actuar los peritos. Pudimos recabar testimonios y estamos investigando”.
La ministra también dijo que el lugar de origen de las llamas es el Río Claro, situado a pocos kilómetros de un refugio turístico, en una zona donde habitualmente van pescadores si bien está prohibido el ingreso a la reserva por ese sector.
Precisó además que la zona comprende un bosque virgen “muy antiguo” con árboles de “40 metros de altura” y “mucho material combustible en el suelo”, en un lugar de “topografía compleja, de pocos accesos” y “en medio de una situación de sequía extrema por las pocas precipitaciones registradas durante el invierno”.
