Dos de los tres seleccionados de Hockey Pista de nuestra provincia se coronaron en tierras barilochenses, como campeones argentinos de hockey pista 2024. Los varones derrotaron al local Bariloche por 6 a 3 y las damas en mayores se impusieron a las locales por 4 a 3.
Los seleccionados de Hockey Pista mayores de damas y caballeros de nuestra provincia tuvieron una destacada actuación en la ciudad de Bariloche. Ambos conjuntos se consagraron campeones argentinos 2024 de la disciplina.
Los dos seleccionados sortearon de manera invicta este torneo. Por el lado de los caballeros ganaron todos los encuentros en tanto que las damas en la fase de grupo empataron un cotejo 1 a 1 frente a la Asociación de Bariloche.
En esta edición el Campeonato Argentino de Hockey Pista 2024 se jugó con una cantidad mínima de participantes. Tan sólo tomaron parte 4 equipos en la categoría Sub-19, 5 en mayores damas y 4 en mayores caballeros.
Los varones, a pesar de la baja convocatoria, tuvieron una actuación superlativa ganando todo lo que jugaron. En la fase de grupo derrotaron a la Asociación de Bariloche por 9 a 4; a la Asociación Santacruceña 9 a 5; y 7 a 4 a la Asociación Santa Cruz Norte.
En semifinales hicieron lo propio frente a la Asociación Santa Cruz Norte nuevamente derrotándolos ajustadamente 7 a 5.
A la hora de la definición, el rival de turno era el local Asociación de Bariloche. En un partido ajustado y friccionado, donde al término de los dos primeros cuartos, Tierra del Fuego lo ganaba por 4 a 3.
Pero este equipo tiene un plus ya que cuenta en sus filas con el capitán y emblema de la selección Argentina, Juan Eleicegui, sumado al gran torneo que realizó Juan Imbert quien se convirtió en goleador y mejor jugador del campeonato.
Los fueguinos anotaron dos goles más para llevar el marcador a 6 a 3 y de esta manera cerrar el juego y alzarse con el bicampeonato.
Categoría damas también se lució.
Las damas atravesaron más o menos el mismo camino y sólo empataron un partido frente a la Asociación de Bariloche.
En la primera fecha derrotaron a la Asociación Santa Cruz Norte por 11 a 2. Luego triunfaron 3 a 1 frente a la Asociación Austral y empataron con Bariloche 1 a 1. Cerraron la fase de grupo con otro triunfo sobre Asociación Santacruceña por 4 a 1.
En esta categoría la definición fue directa y en la final Tierra del Fuego (primero) se enfrentó con el segundo de la Asociación de Bariloche.
En la definición los dos conjuntos se brindaron al máximo ante un Gimnasio Municipal N°3 colmado por la parcialidad local. Con el antecedente de que en la fase de grupo no se habían sacado diferencias el partido podía ir tanto para un lado como para el otro.
A la hora de definir, manejar el resultado y los tiempos, fue Tierra del Fuego el que manejo mejor la bocha y se terminó llevando el partido por 4 a 3.
De esta manera se terminó coronando tricampeón Argentino de la especialidad.
Vale decir que las chicas de Sub-19 terminaron en el cuarto puesto logrando solo una victoria.
