La Policía Científica descarto acto de vandalismo en la Plaza Ilas Malvinas, luego de la denuncia mediática del legislador Federico Sciurano, quien subió imágenes del lugar con luces caídas y desprendimientos.
El secretario de Malvinas, Daniel Arias, detalló: “La Policía de Tierra del Fuego efectuó las pericias correspondientes, contando con el apoyo de las cámaras de seguridad, y se descartó la posibilidad de un acto vandálico”.
En este contexto, Arias expresó su gratitud hacia la ciudadanía, destacando “la rápida acción de alertar al municipio y al Centro de Veteranos de Guerra acerca del incidente”.
El representante municipal subrayó la importancia del muro afectado, mencionando que “no es un muro común y corriente; es un emblema que permite tanto a residentes como a visitantes rendir tributo a los 649 veteranos que nos dejaron defendiendo nuestra nación. Junto a la ‘llama eterna’, simboliza el respeto y la memoria de aquellos que dieron su vida”.
Arias concluyó sus palabras añadiendo, “nos alivia y reconforta saber que no se trató de un acto vandálico, sino más bien de un desgaste natural debido a la exposición continua a las inclemencias climáticas”.
Ademas desde la Municipalidad de Ushuaia agradeció la colaboración de los vecinos que notificaron con prontitud el desprendimiento de mármol en uno de los muros de la Plaza Malvinas. Personal de la Subsecretaría de Obras Públicas ya procedió con el retiro de los escombros.
