El candidato de Unión por la Patria fue el más votado en las elecciones generales; el referente de La Libertad Avanza quedó segundo; ambos volverán a medirse en las urnas el 19 de noviembre
Con el 88,68% de las mesas escrutadas, Sergio Massa fue el candidato más votado y obtuvo el 36,26% de los votos. Lo siguió Javier Milei con el 30,20%. En tercer lugar quedó Patricia Bullrich con el 23,81%. El cuarto y quinto puesto fueron ocupados por Juan Schiaretti y Myriam Bregman con el 7,04% y el 2,66%, respectivamente.
El gran interrogante de esta elección era saber si el próximo Presidente sería elegido en primera vuelta o si habría ballotage. Finalmente, tras los primeros resultados, se supo que efectivamente habrá segunda vuelta, puesto que el candidato de Unión por la Patria no sacó más de 45% de los votos ni tuvo una distancia de 10 puntos con el representante de La Libertad Avanza. Pero, con este escenario, ¿ qué necesitan estos dos candidatos para ser elegidos como presidente?
Este domingo los argentinos se expresaron en las urnas y con su voto eligieron a la persona que quieren que los gobierne durante los próximos cuatro años. El actual Ministro de Economía y candidato de Unión por la Patria se quedó con el primer lugar, pero los números no evitaron el escenario del ballotage, es decir, de una segunda vuelta entre los dos candidatos más votados. De esta manera, los argentinos volverán a votar el domingo 19 de noviembre y tendrán que decidir entre Sergio Massa y Javier Milei.
En la segunda vuelta, el sistema es distinto a las elecciones generales. Ahí no hay un número al cual llegar, sino que una mayoría simple (es decir, de un solo voto de diferencia), es suficiente. El candidato que consigue más votos, gana. Es decir que, en ese contexto, hay solo dos escenarios posibles. Si Sergio Massa es el candidato más votado, se queda con la presidencia; y si Javier Milei consigue el mayor número de votos, será presidente.
Cabe recordar que el último ballottage en la Argentina fue en 2015 y los competidores fueron Mauricio Macri y Daniel Scioli. El candidato de Cambiemos sacó 51,34%, y el exgobernador de Buenos Aires obtuvo el 48,66%. De esta manera, Macri se convirtió en presidente y ejerció sus funciones entre 2015 y 2019.
