Tras un procedimiento aduanero de control, detuvieron este martes a un camionero argentino que en la frontera de Monte Aymond transportaba más de 5 kilos de cocaína y 700 gramos de marihuana. El conductor fue trasladado a Punta Arenas en donde será formalizado.
Una fiscalización aduanera a un vehículo de carga mayor que ingresaba a Chile por el complejo fronterizo Monte Aymond culminó con el hallazgo de 5 kilos y 640 gramos de cocaína y 780 gramos de marihuana, todo oculto en la carrocería y vestimentas del conductor de nacionalidad argentina que tenía como destino final la ciudad de Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego.
Los hechos se desencadenaron cuando los fiscalizadores de la Aduana de Punta Arenas seleccionaron para revisión física el vehículo que ingresó al control fronterizo.
Al entrar en la cabina se encontraron con 3 frascos de vidrio ocultos en un saco de dormir. El sujeto reconoció que se trataba de marihuana. Consultado sobre si portaba más sustancias, indicó que llevaba 4 frascos más. Al final de todo el proceso, los fiscalizadores encontraron también 5 paquetes tipo ladrillo ocultos en la zona posterior de la cabina, entre la muralla interior y la cama.
Las pruebas de campo aplicadas por los funcionarios del equipo de Drogas de esa Aduana confirmaron que el contenido de los frascos de vidrio era cannabis sativa, mientras que el de los ladrillos era clorhidrato de cocaína.
El Fiscal Regional de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena, Cristián Crisosto Rifo señaló que “estamos informando que nuevamente hemos tenido un caso exitoso en persecución del tráfico de drogas. Se trata de un procedimiento en el que se logró atrapar a un ciudadano argentino que conducía un camión con casi 6 kilos de cocaína y casi 1 kilo de marihuana. Lo relevante es que durante este año hemos más que duplicado la incautación de diversas drogas en la región en comparación al 2023. Los organismos de prevención y de persecución estamos a la altura del desafío, y estamos investigando. El imputado ha quedado en prisión preventiva y se dieron 90 días de plazo de investigación”.
Por su parte, el Delegado Presidencial José Ruiz Pivcevic rescató el trabajo intesectorial que es el que logra estos hallazgos exitosos. “Con Fiscalía, con Policía de Investigaciones y Aduanas tenemos el foco de resguardar nuestras fronteras de estos ilícitos. Sabemos que por la condición geográfica de nuestra región esto es altamente relevante.”
