El Gobierno dio a conocer este jueves el Índice de Precios al Consumidor (IPC) de enero, que marcó una suba del 2,2%. Sin embargo, provincias que miden a la par de Nación mostraron una fuerte dispersión, con guarismos que oscilaron entre el 1% y el 3,5%. El índice que mide el Indec así mostró una desaceleración en comparación con el 2,7% de diciembre. El Gobierno apunta a perforar el 2% este mes.
Buenos Aires.- El Indec informó que la inflación de enero fue de 2,2% y así marcó una desaceleración en comparación con el 2,7% que había registrado diciembre. De esta forma, la suba interanual de precios fue de 84,5 por ciento.
El índice mensual es el más bajo desde mediados de 2020, un año en que la fuerte recesión derivada de la pandemia hizo caer el ritmo de precios en la economía. A su vez, el índice interanual acumula nueve meses consecutivos en baja y fue el menor desde septiembre de 2022.
En el primer mes del año, las divisiones de mayor aumento fueron Restaurantes y hoteles (5,3%), por subas estacionales del período vacacional, y Vivienda, agua, electricidad, gas y otros combustibles (4,0%), por incrementos en los alquileres. En el otro extremo, los menores aumentos se registraron en Educación (0,5%) y en Prendas de vestir y calzado, rubro en el que se registró deflación (-0,7%).
A nivel de las categorías, “los precios regulados (2,6%) lideraron el incremento, seguidos del IPC núcleo (2,4%), mientras que los Estacionales aumentaron 0,6%”, explicó el Indec.
Al igual que los últimos meses, se mantuvo la fuerte diferencia entre la inflación de bienes (1,5%) y servicios (3,8%).
Desde el ministerio de Economía, destacaron que “este sendero de reducción en la inflación se da en un contexto de crecimiento del nivel de actividad (+6,4% acumulado entre abril y noviembre según el EMAE desestacionalizado) y suba en los ingresos de la población, destacándose los incrementos en términos reales en diciembre de 18% i.a. en el salario promedio del sector privado registrado (SIPA), 12,8% i.a. en el haber jubilatorio y 107% i.a. en la Asignación Universal por Hijo”.
El índice de enero es el último que tuvo lugar bajo el esquema cambiario de actualización del dólar oficial a ritmo de 2% por mes. El Gobierno activó un retoque en el esquema cambiario esta semana luego de haber esperado un trimestre con un IPC cercano a 2,5 por ciento. Así, el tipo de cambio oficial pasa a moverse a un ritmo de 1% mensual. Esa es la velocidad a la que el Ministerio de Economía apunta a que tiendan a converger los bienes, que explican cerca de un 65% de la canasta que toma en consideración el Indec para elaborar el índice de precios, más allá de los servicios.
La proyección para febrero
La expectativa oficial el que la inflación perfore rápidamente el 2 por ciento. El ministro de Economía Luis Caputo aseguró la semana pasada en una entrevista que hay posibilidades de que el índice de precios de febrero sea menor al 2%, una expectativa de desinflación más rápida de la que tiene el mercado. “Ojalá empiece en febrero con 1, el proceso de desinflación va a continuar, el orden macro va a continuar. El proceso es inevitable y esperamos que siga sorprendiendo”, afirmó el funcionario.
Por lo pronto, la primera semana de febrero mostró un marcado repunte en los indicadores de inflación semanales que miden la variación de los precios de alimentos y bebidas, principalmente en el Gran Buenos Aires. Esa aceleración estuvo explicada por el aumento de precio de la carne, que tiene un peso alto en la canasta total que mide el Indec, por lo que un movimiento en ese rubro tiene un impacto considerable en el indicador general.
Dos consultoras que hacen seguimiento semanal de precios observaron la misma tendencia. LCG mencionó que “a comparación de la semana pasada, la primera semana de febrero presentó un fuerte incremento en el porcentaje de productos con aumentos de precios: 10 puntos porcentuales, abarcando al 21% de la canasta relevada”, aseguró. En los primeros días de este mes la suba de precios semanal fue de 2,3%, el número más alto para esta serie desde la segunda semana de marzo.
“Febrero comienza con una inflación semanal de 2,3% en nuestro Relevamiento de Precios de Alimentos y Bebidas. Se sostiene la estacionalidad de las primeras semanas de cada mes con subas por encima de las semanas previas. La inflación promedio arrojó una suba del 2,2% mensual sumando la cuarta semana en ascenso”, concluyó esa consultora.
Por su parte, Equilibra también midió una fuerte aceleración semanal, desde 0,3% a 1,1 por ciento. “La suba estacional de la carne vacuna ya se siente en el mercado minorista: en la semana, el rubro ‘Carnes y otros derivados’ trepó 2,6% (carne vacuna: 3,7%), llevando a los Alimentos y bebidas sin estacionales y al Nivel General a 1,1% semanal. En la medición 4 semanas móvil, el Nivel General trepó 2,0% y el IPC Núcleo 1,9%”, resumió un informe reciente con datos de los primeros días de febrero. A diferencia de LCG, Equilibra proyecta una perspectiva de IPC general a partir de estos datos, y espera un 2%, similar a lo que ya estimaban para enero.
Lo que suceda con la carne será determinante para la inflación general por el peso que el Indec le otorga a ese rubro en la conformación de la canasta que mide los precios todos los meses. Para el caso del Gran Buenos Aires, carnes explica casi el 7% del total, aunque en otras regiones explica incluso una proporción mayor, como en el Noreste (13,2%) y Noroeste (12,5 por ciento).
