En diálogo con FM del Pueblo, el rector de la Universidad Nacional de Tierra del Fuego (UNTDF), el Dr. Daniel Fernández, brindó detalles sobre la próxima auditoría que realizará la Auditoría General de la Nación (AGN) en 2025.
«Las auditorías funcionan así, hacen planes anuales y deciden qué auditar en distintos momentos del año,» explicó Fernández, señalando que este proceso es una práctica común para controlar los gastos de las universidades. La AGN planea auditar las áreas de bienestar y extensión de la UNTDF. «Es algo estándar y está muy bien,» agregó.
A pesar de ser una actividad rutinaria, el rector destacó que estas auditorías suelen ser politizadas, intentando generar sospechas sobre el manejo de los fondos públicos. «Políticamente, intentan hacer eso, pero será una oportunidad para demostrar lo poco que invierte el gobierno nacional en extensión y bienestar universitario,» dijo Fernández.
El rector también se refirió al presupuesto destinado a las universidades, el cual permanece en niveles insuficientes. «De lo que todas las universidades enviamos y se consolida en el CIN, lo adjudicado por el presupuesto 2025 es un 53%,» explicó. Esto significa que solo la mitad de los recursos necesarios están contemplados, lo que genera preocupación sobre el futuro financiero de las instituciones. «Vamos a tener problemas en 2025, grandes problemas,» advirtió.
Cuando se le preguntó sobre declaraciones recientes del presidente Javier Milei respecto a la universidad pública gratuita, Fernández fue contundente. «No quieren la universidad pública gratuita,» señaló. «Cada vez que hay una discusión, vuelven a plantear el arancelamiento y ponen en duda la administración y los estudiantes,» añadió, subrayando la desconexión entre las declaraciones políticas y la realidad de la ciencia y tecnología en el país, ya que más del 60% de los investigadores argentinos tienen como lugar de trabajo las universidades públicas.
Sobre los recientes rumores de renuncias de docentes e investigadores en universidades nacionales, Fernández confirmó que la situación es preocupante en Tierra del Fuego debido al alto costo de vida y los salarios que no acompañan la inflación. «Hemos tenido docentes que se han vuelto al norte porque no les cierra la ecuación,» comentó. Además, el desfinanciamiento del sistema científico-tecnológico ha agravado la situación, provocando una fuga de talento.
Finalmente, Fernández expresó su preocupación por el futuro del sistema universitario argentino. «Se va a necesitar mucha inversión para recuperar lo que se ha perdido, y la verdad no está bueno que esto suceda,» concluyó.
