El Departamento de Policía de Durango, en Estados Unidos, arrestó el lunes a Jonah Barrett-Lesko, de 26 años, por un presunto ataque sexual con un caballo.
La policía respondió al recinto ferial alrededor de las 10 pm del 17 de junio después de recibir una llamada acusando que “un hombre que estaba teniendo relaciones sexuales con un caballo”.
“Mientras Lesko estaba bajo custodia, los detectives de la policía recuperaron mensajes de texto donde Lesko admitió su interacción sexual con el caballo, y durante entrevistas posteriores admitió los actos”, dijo el subjefe Brice Current en un comunicado de prensa el lunes.
Barrett-Lesko, quien ha estado en el área de Durango desde aproximadamente 2019, enfrenta cargos de crueldad animal y posesión de herramientas de robo.

El incidente fue reportado por primera vez por el cuidador del caballo, quien tenía una cámara de videovigilancia dentro del establo y vio una transmisión en vivo del incidente a través de una aplicación de su teléfono móvil. Con esos antecedentes la policía detuvo a Barrett-Lesko por entrar sin autorización en Summit Church en Durango alrededor de las 10:20 am del lunes.
Durante las entrevistas con la policía, Barrett-Lesko solo admitió haber intentado el comportamiento sexual, y acusó insinuaciones del animal.
“Jonah dijo que el caballo le había dado indicaciones, basadas en su comportamiento, de que estaba interesado en participar en actividades sexuales”, dice el informe policial. “Jonah dijo que nunca había tenido comportamiento sexual con animales antes de este incidente”.
Además en su declaración ante los oficiales el acusado afirmó que el incidente fue provocado por drogas y por problemas en una relación personal.
Barrett-Lesko fue ingresado en la cárcel del condado de La Plata el lunes con una fianza de $ 5,000 dólares.
