El rompehielos y buque científico RRS Sir David Attenborough estuvo en las costas fueguinas luego de cruzar el Estrecho de Le Maire que separa por 27 kilómetros la Isla de los Estados y la Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego; Dachary denunció públicamente este avasallamiento británico.
La nave luego cruzó el Estrecho de Magallanes, y se dirigió hacia la capital de la región entre el viernes de la semana pasada y ayer.
Si bien partió el pasado 16 de diciembre desde las Malvinas a la base antártica británica de Rothera, la alerta se desató cuando cruzó el Estrecho de Le Maire que separa por 27 kilómetros la Isla de los Estados y la Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego
Ante dicho nuevo avasallamiento británico, el Secretario de Malvinas y Asuntos Internacionales de Tierra del Fuego, Andrés Dachary, adelantó que elaborarán un proyecto de Ley para poner a disposición de Diputados y Senadores que defiendan la soberanía de nuestro país y así evitar este tipo de conflictos.
“Con la presencia del rompehielos y buque científico RRS Sir David Attenborough en nuestras costas, con bandera ilegal, es imperativo adoptar una política de estado más firme y decidida ante estos sistemáticos actos unilaterales que amenazan nuestros legítimos derechos sobre la Cuestión de las Malvinas. Si bien la Convención de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Derecho del Mar ampara el paso del buque por el Estrecho de Le Maire, es innegable que este tipo de situaciones atenta contra los intereses de nuestra Nación”, aseguró.
Por último, Dachary planteó: “La pregunta es: ¿Tenemos forma de remediarlo? Sí. ¿Cómo? Mediante la creación de normas internas complementarias que restrinjan dichos permisos de pasos a buques de entidades no reconocidas por nuestro país. Esto permitiría mínimamente que navíos que enarbolen la ilegitima bandera de nuestras Islas Malvinas NO naveguen en aguas territoriales no usurpadas”.
