En una tarde de sábado primaveral, el puntero e invicto Las Águilas se presentó ante Tolhuin Rugby Club, conjunto que está haciendo sus primeras armas en el círculo superior de la Unión de Rugby de Tierra del Fuego. El equipo capitalino derrotó al mediterráneo por 36 a 14.
De esta manera, de no mediar ningún imprevisto, El combinado fucsia se posiciona como serio candidato a pelear por el título del Torneo Clausura. Igualmente todavía queda espacio para ver quién será su oponente, ya que los escoltas son Ushuaia Rugby Club y Club Colegio del Sur, que también lograron sendas victorias.
En la cancha “Gerardo Iriart”, Club Colegio del Sur logró batir al que hasta el inicio de esta fecha era el escolta de Las Águilas, Universitario de Río Grande.
Fue un partido de trámite parejo, donde los dos se jugaban mucho, ya que el que ganara este encuentro quedaría como escolta del torneo.
El primer tiempo culminó con un ajustado 13 a 10 a favor del local y en la segunda parte la visita tuvo una leve reacción logrando apoyar un try y su respectiva conversión poniéndose arriba por 17 a 13.
El local no tardó en reaccionar ya que no pasaron más de cinco minutos de aquella conquista de Universitario, para que Colegio volviera a poner las cosas en su lugar, convirtiendo try y conversión para llevar el marcador a 20 a 17.
El local siguió buscando y a falta de tres minutos del final, Facundo Martín interceptó un pase del equipo visitante, se filtró en la defensa, quedando tres atacantes contra un defensor. Martín cedió hacia atrás para su compañero Germán Ruiz, quien terminó apoyando una nueva conquista.
De esta manera Colegio del Sur cerró el partido en 28 a 17, que lo deja muy bien posicionado para lo que viene. Recordemos que los dos escoltas tienen un partido pendiente entre si.
Por otra parte, en el campo de juego del Ushuaia Rugby Club, el tricolor recibió a los verdes de Río Grande Rugby & Hockey Club, donde los dos venían de ser derrotados por sus clásicos rivales en la fecha anterior.
En este partido no hubo mucho para comentar, ya que el local aplastó a su rival, dejándolo en el último lugar de la tabla de posiciones. El resultado final del partido fue 62 para el URC, 0 para RGR&HC.
La séptima fecha nuevamente se jugará íntegramente en la ciudad de Ushuaia. El venidero fin de semana se enfrentarán
