Se trata del secretario de Gobierno Eduardo Barrientos. Fue demorado en Trelew, tras encontrarse en el auto en el que viajaba una bolsa que contenía «sales de baño con una poderosa droga psicoactiva”, según medios de esa provincia.
Un nuevo escándalo sacude a la política fueguina, luego de que se conociera que el flamante secretario de Gobierno del Municipio de Ushuaia, Eduardo Barrientos fue desplazado del cargo que asumiera el pasado 17 de agosto, tras haber quedado complicado en un procedimiento por drogas llevado a cabo en la provincia de Chubut.
La información del cese de Barrientos fue confirmada por el Jefe de Gabinete de Walter Vuoto, Sebastián Iriarte, a través de un tweet publicado este viernes por la tarde, minutos después se que trascendiera el episodio.
Aunque no se han obtenido comentarios en Ushuaia respecto del hecho, este medio pudo saber que Barrientos se encontraba en Chubut por razones familiares y que regresaba a Tierra del Fuego en su vehículo particular cuando fue sorprendido por el operativo policial sobre la ruta 3, en el acceso norte a Trelew.
Según la información oficial a la que tuvo acceso www.radiofueguina.com, el funcionario viajaba a bordo de un Fiat Cronos, que fue requisado ante la sospecha del personal uniformado, que realizaba un control de rutina.
En la inspección, y con ayuda de un can, se encontraron elementos para consumo de estupefacientes (pipas, picadores y una balanza), pero además una cantidad importante de lo que la Policía chubutense llamó «sales de baño» y que catalogó como una «nueva sustancia psicoactiva» que posee la en su composición molecular «catinona».
Todos los elementos fueron secuestrados y Eduardo Barrientos demorado y rápidamente puesto en libertad, aunque notificado de Derechos y Garantías y a la espera de nuevas pericias sobre las muestras de unos 250 gramos de esas «sales de baño» y sobre el resto de lo decomisado.
La causa quedó a cargo del Juzgado Federal de Rawson, secretaría de la Dra. María Eugenia Quiroga y según pudo averiguar ((La 97)) Radio Fueguina, Barrientos seguirá en libertad mientras la instrucción avanza. Por estas horas se encuentra en Comodoro Rivadavia y se aguarda que este mismo fin de semana regrese a Tierra del Fuego.
Si bien el hecho sucedió hace días recién se hizo público hoy, motivando encuentros de urgencia de los principales referentes del Gabinete de Vuoto, que tomó dos decisiones: separar del cargo mientras avanza la investigación a Barrientos y nombrar rápidamente a un sucesor, que asumiría a comienzos de la semana próxima.

El intendente de Ushuaia apartó a Eduardo Barrientos de la secretaría de Gobierno en forma inmediata y hasta que la justicia se expidaEl intendente de Ushuaia, Walter Vuoto decidió separar del cargo de Secretario de Gobierno a Eduardo Barrientos, tras los hechos de público conocimiento ocurridos en la provincia de Chubut.El jefe de Gabinete Sebastián Iriarte indicó que “el intendente decidió apartar Barrientos de la Secretaría, hasta que la Justicia se expida sobre la causa que se tramita” y agregó que “en las próximas horas se conocerá el nombre de quien ocupe esta área del gobierno municipal”.
