Cada 10 de septiembre se conmemora el Día Mundial para la Prevención del Suicidio, con el fin de concientizar que este acto se puede evitar. En Río Grande, existe la ONG «Mucho por Vivir», encabezada por la Operadora Socio-terapeuta en problema de consumo problemático, Marcela Leal.
En diálogo con ((La 97)) Radio Fueguina, Leal detalló que este domingo dirán presente en este día tan significativo y se movilizarán a las 16:00. La con concentración será en la Plaza Almirante Brown, donde darán una vuelta para dirigirse al Concejo Deliberante.
A la misma hora, En Tolhuin, se realizará una manifestación similar en la plaza principal de la localidad.
Una vez llegados al lugar, la Operadora Socio-terapeuta en problema de consumo problemático estará en compañía con la Psicóloga Fernanda Suárez, quienes darán un mensaje concientizando sobre el Día Mundial para la Prevención del Suicidio.
«El suicidio se puede prevenir. El mensaje que daremos será de esperanza, y luego realizaremos una serie de pedidos, específicamente para el área de Salud Mental», detalló Leal.
Solicitarán que los fondos que lleguen a la Provincia sean destinados dicha área, «y así poder contratar más psicólogos y psiquiatras para los hospitales de las tres ciudades», ya que notan que «esa área está muy débil», añadió Marcela en diálogo con ((La 97)) Radio Fueguina.
Asimismo, resaltarán que el Municipio ha trabajado bastante en el área de Salud Mental, ya que en Casa de Jóvenes, ubicado en Isla de los Estados 1195, al principio contaba con 3 psicólogas y actualmente hay 20 profesionales, pero «tampoco alcanza para la población, ya que estos se dedican más que nada en consultorios externos y atender a jóvenes y adolescentes«.
«El Hospital y Gobierno deberían destinar todo lo que se necesita para la población, porque no alcanza con 2 o 3 profesionales y que hayan falencias en los turnos» opinó la referente de la ONG «Mucho por Vivir».
