El personal penitenciario debió intervenir para resguardar al resto de la población carcelaria de intoxicarse, se convoco a Bomberos Ushuaia, pero a la llegada de estos el fuego había sido extinguido.
Aguilar quien cumple condena en el pabellón 3 quemó su colchón a modo de protesta porque le requisaron a la visita. No hubo lesionados entre la población carcelaria ni el personal penitenciario que intervino inmediatamente resguardando a las demás personas, para luego con extintores controlar la situación.
Se envió el informe para tomar sanciones disciplinarias para este sujeto que podría ser trasladado a la Unidad de Detención 1 de Río Grande.
