Una bebé de 20 meses murió en Cataluña (España) al ser golpeada por granizo durante una violenta tormenta, informaron autoridades locales y sanitarias. «Le cayó una piedra en la cabeza» y «desgraciadamente no lo ha podido superar», explicó a la emisora de radio catalana RAC1 Carme Vall, regidora del ayuntamiento de La Bisbal d’Empordà, el pueblo cercano a Girona que sufrió la inusual precipitación.
«La granizada duró 10 minutos, pero fueron unos diez minutos de miedo», añadió Vall, que aseguró que la tormenta descargó piedras de hielo de hasta 11 centímetros de diámetro.»
Ha fallecido la niña, que tenía 20 meses, en nuestro hospital, durante la noche», confirmó a la AFP, sin más precisiones, el Hospital Josep Trueta de Girona, al que fue trasladada la bebé.
La tormenta ocurrió el martes por la tarde y dañó coches, tejados y los vitrales de la iglesia, según imágenes difundidas por el ayuntamiento y las televisiones.
